Hippie Bus

This sho tof a Hippie Bus was rejected for "Potential copyright / trademark / privacy issue with photo (could be: copyrighted art, visible logo, license plate number, etc) sorry..."  I suppose I could try to edit out the license plate, but given it's a vanity plate and not a real plate I didn't think that would be a problem when I sumitted it to the stock photo site.  Rather than trying again, I figured I would just post it here for your free use.  Again, just comment on the posting if you plan on using the picture somewhere.  No other payment is required.  Thanks!

Inside the Nuremberg Castle Tower

Here's a cool shot looking up from inside the bottom of the Nuremberg Castle Tower in Germany.  It was extremely dark in this tower so the shot came out a bit grainy -  espcially considering I only had my canon SD790IS point and shoot camera with me.  Nonetheless, at smaller sizes I think you might still be able to use this free stock photo for something.

Penn State Beaver Stadium

This photo is from the Penn State / Syracuse game in October 2009.  I came so close to getting all the letters in Penn State.  I need a better camera with a little less shutter lag.  Trying to figure out how much to lead a bunch of running cheerleaders to compensate is not that easy!

Nuremberg Panoramic

Here's a panoramic shot from my trip to Nuremberg, Germany shot from the top of the castle tower.  Unfortunately, I can't upload this one to the stock photo sites either due to the rain.  Hopefully you enjoy it and post here how you have used my free photos.

Restaurant Heilig Geist Spital

This photo is of the outside of Restaurant Heilig Geist Spital in Nürnberg, Germany.  Unfortunately, it was raining the day I was there and you can see the rain making streaks through the photo if you zoom in at 100%.  I think the photo still looks good at the sizes most would look at it, but it certainly won't be accepted by any stock photo sites.  As always, all you need to do to use this photo free is post a comment here.

Wedding Table Cards

I thought for sure this photo would be accepted.  Most of my other photos were shot with a nikon P80.  I figured the exif data was one of the things they were using to reject my pictures so I uploaded this shot of wedding table cards.  Data for this photo is as follows:

London River Thames Panoramic

This panoramic of the River Thames in London was rejected for Artifact Problems: Noise/Grain/Chromatic or other artifacts due to low light, blue or purple fringing, high ISO, over-sharpening or post processing techniques. Please view image at 100% prior to submission.  I actually should have caught this one before I uploaded it.  I took these images that were sticked together out o fthe london eye and you can see some distortion from the capsule glass in the lower right hand side of the picture.  Nevertheless, I still like the shot.

Prince Edward Island Mouse Statue

I thought for sure this photo would be accepted.  I think this is a great shot of a small mouse statue that is used to mark interesting landmarks on Prince Edward Island.  I guess the stock photo site didn't agree. Here's the rejection notice:
"Low interest subject: Probably little demand/selling potential for this image. Try for more marketable shots. thanks"

Apple Crisp - Half Eaten

I'm personally rejecting this photo of a half eaten apple crisp before I even upload it to the stock photo sites.  Don't get me wrong, the apple crisp was really good, but the photo just didn't work out.  It looks like it's just a pile of good so no need to get a rejection notice on this one.  Perhaps you can use the photo for something though.  If you do, I would love to see you post your use here.

Buckingham Palace Archway closed

I took this picture of a sign in Buckingham palace while waiting for the changing of the guard.  I thought it was pretty funny to see an "archway closed" sign in front of the palace, but I guess the people at the stock photo site didn't agree.  Here's their rejecection notice: "Snapshot composition: This image is more of a snapshot than a marketable stock image. Overall problems can include poor lighting, poor composition, non-interesting subject matter, etc."  Post your thoughts on the image here.

Original Lighthouse Picture - Before Editing

Here's the original lighthouse picture before I messed with the colors and ran some noise reduction filters. What do you think? It this better or worse than the picture I submitted to the stock photo site? Anything I should have done differently on the edited version?

Rejected: Prince Edward Island Lighthouse, photoshop version

This photo of a light house on Prince Edward Island, Canada was rejected for "Image is not very crisp or is blurred when viewed at full size."  Again, I played with the image a lot in photoshop (well, gimp actually) before uploading it.  I'll post the original out of the camera image later and then you can comment on which one you like better.

Atlantic City Panoramic

This Panoramic of Atlantic City New Jersey was rejected for "Image is too dark or too light, not properly exposed. You may be able to try using 'Levels' control in Photoshop to fix depending on how bad the issue is. Thanks."  Funny thing is this image is actually adjusted in photoshop.  I didn't like the colors right out of the camera.  I wonder if it would have been accepted if I didn't adjust it.  The image was taken from the 4th floor of the Tropicana parking garage

5 Photos Uploaded, only 1 accepted

Today was a bad day for stock photo posting.  I uploaded 5 new photos to one of those stock photo websites I mentioned that I use and only 1 was accepted.  Here's the first rejected photo.  It's of a sign on Prince Edward Island in Canada that said "Whale Skull" located in a garden.  I thought it looked interesting.  The photo was rejected for "Image is not very crisp or is blurred when viewed at full size."  Let me know what you think by commenting on this post.  I'll post the rest of the rejects soon.

Boston Panoramic

I love shooting Panoramics.  This one I shot in Boston was rejected for "Dull, lifeless color: Colors are dull or lackluster. Sometimes this can be fixed using some saturation boost in Photoshop"
